'Pokémon Let's Go' Will Distribute Mew With PokeBall Plus Purchase

The first Pokémon games to come to Nintendo Switch are Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee set to release in November. Nintendo's E3 2018 presentation did not reveal much new information about the games, other than that the Mythical Pokémon, Mew, will be a bonus for those who purchase the PokeBall Plus.

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime spoke about the features (both old and new) for Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee during the Direct but made sure to emphasize the PokeBall Plus that allows for players to take Pokémon on-the-go and asks as a Joy Con for the games.

Prior to the Nintendo E3 Direct, we only knew a few details about Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee. Revealed during a special press conference in Tokyo in May, Pokémon Let's Go was pegged as a great jumping on point for younger and newer audiences while hardcore fans can still find something to love.

Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee will be more of a reimagining than a remake of the classic Pokémon Yellow and will include the original 151 Pokémon. Features like Pokémon following trainers returns while the catching mechanics for Let's Go underwent a significant change. Similar to Pokémon Go, players will use a throwing motion to catch Pokémon instead of the usual method of weakening them first.

There is a local co-op element to Let's Go that allows trainers to play through the story together for the first time. The Pokémon Company and Game Freak also teased a brand new, never-before-seen Pokémon to be added to the games as well.

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee are set to release for Switch on Nov. 16.
