Pregnant Woman Lifts Heavy Weight for Unique Gender Reveal

Gender reveal parties have become an increasingly fashionable way to find out the sex of your unborn child.

The modern phenomenon, and social media trend, sees expectant parents discovering whether their baby will be a boy or a girl via a color reveal in front of their friends and family.

If the color blue appears then they are to have a son, and if it's pink they will be welcoming a daughter.

There have been many creative ways that people have performed a color reveal.

It could be by popping a balloon, cutting a cake or, in the case of a recent viral video, deadlifting a weight.

In footage posted to TikTok by Y.rod on June 29, a pregnant woman can be seen standing in a yard in front of a barbell loaded with a weight plate on either end.

She then bends at her knees, grabs the weight and lifts it above her head successfully.

When she has completed the lift, she then drops the barbell and blue powder explodes out. The group watching then cheer at the fact she will be having a boy.

The clip, which can be viewed here, is captioned: "#babyboycomingsoon #fitbabyinthemaking #healthyfitmom."

The footage has since gone viral, having been viewed by more than 4.2 million people, and receiving over 463,100 likes.

Many took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the incredible video.

One TikTok user, Vanessa Khalili, wrote: "This is powerful."

Another person, Hay, added: "This is what I want my gender reveal to be like oh my god."

Rachel Butler gushed: "What an amazing and unique way to find out."

Reginaamariee01 typed: "I love this! Congrats love! Many blessings sent to you and your baby!"

Page commented: "I think this is the only way my mom could be any cooler."

However, some people were concerned that the woman shouldn't be lifting a weight while pregnant, with JJ writing: "I'm asking cause I'm not familiar with weightlifting but is that safe? I'm genuinely unaware please be nice."

Matthew Irilli added: "Shouldn't do that with a baby."

But others supported the mom-to-be, with Faith explaining: "People acting like its 200 lbs, its a 30+ I'm sure the baby is perfectly fine."

Jessica Tovar also gave her opinion, typing: "Yes, it's fine as long as she lifted prior to the pregnancy. He body is used to it therefore she most likely won't strain herself or hurt the baby."

But, is it actually safe to lift weights during pregnancy? Healthline explains: "Unfortunately, there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer to this question.

"If you regularly lifted weights before pregnancy, you very likely can continue with some modifications. If you're new to lifting, you should probably speak with your doctor first."
