PS5 Restock Update for PS Direct, Walmart, Amazon, Target, Best Buy and More

PS5 restocks have been unusually frequent lately, with both GameStop and PS Direct topping up their supplies last week. Continuing this streak, yet another drop is confirmed to be happening later on Tuesday.

Here is a breakdown of the latest information.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

Sony's official storefront opened its virtual line on two separate occasions last week. The first drop was on August 17 and the second one followed shortly thereafter on August 19.

Having multiple restocks stacked so close together would normally exhaust a merchant's inventory. Yet console trackers are reporting that another drop is on the cards for later on Tuesday (August 24), scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.

Randomly selected PSN users have already received emails inviting them to join the virtual line, which will be closed at first. As always, there is a decent chance that—following a limited period of exclusivity for those customers—the line might then open up for everybody else.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Dependable console tracker Matt Swider is predicting that Amazon could be organizing its next restock over the coming days.

The analyst's forecasts are usually fairly reliable—and he gets most of his information directly from sources who work in actual distribution centers—so it is definitely worth heeding his advice.

Speaking of which, Swider is recommending that customers keep an eye on Amazon's marketplace for the remainder of the week, as he expects the PS5 inventory to be replenished sometime before the end of August.

Specifically, he has mentioned that the most likely times for a potential drop are between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. ET, or just after 3 a.m. ET. At the time of writing, there is no indication of a possible date.

Amazon is certainly overdue for a restock (as their last one was during the Prime Day flash sale, almost a month ago), lending further credence to Swider's theory.

GameStop PS5 Restock

GameStop released new PS5 units on Tuesday, August 17 at 11 a.m. ET.

There were a variety of bundles to choose from here, with multiple different games and accessories on offer. Yet as is fast becoming a trend for GameStop, these deals were reserved exclusively for their "PowerUp Rewards Pro" customers, meaning that regular shoppers were unable to place an order.

Given that a similar restriction has been imposed on the last few GameStop restocks, it might be worth registering for one of these premium memberships. If you decide that you want to, you can sign up for the PowerUp Pro scheme on the retailer's website, for an annual cost of $14.99.

Newegg PS5 Restock

The PS5 is not featured in any of Newegg's shuffle draws right now.

You can still purchase a few overpriced bundles on the site - courtesy of third party resellers—but most of these exceed costs of $1,000. As such, you are probably better off waiting for the next official restock if you want to get a fair deal.

Antonline PS5 Restock

The PS5 is currently unavailable from Antonline.

If you are happy to settle for the Xbox Series S, then there are a few options for getting your hands on Microsoft's less powerful console instead. More information about this can be found in our previous Xbox restock update.

Target PS5 Restock

As we reported in our last update, individual Target stores have been coordinating their own restocks lately.

This makes it rather difficult to predict when the outlet's next nationwide drop will occur. We can at least narrow it down to sometime between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. ET (as that is the usual timeslot for Target), but there is no word on a specific date yet.

Walmart PS5 Restock

Walmart actually restocked twice on Thursday, August 12, releasing PS5 units in two separate batches throughout the day (one at noon and one in the evening).

Other than on that specific occasion, Walmart drops generally occur on Thursdays at 3 p.m. ET, so you should get into a routine of checking the website around then.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

Best Buy was most recently selling the PS5 on Thursday, August 12, but its supplies are now thoroughly depleted.

On the brighter side, Best Buy has been one of the more prolific vendors when it comes to PlayStation restocks over the past few months. With that in mind, if it does get more units in the near future, @mattswider and @GYXdeals will broadcast a timely update to their followers.

Sam's Club

Alongside Walmart and Best Buy, Sam's Club also restocked on Thursday, August 12.

Since then, the merchant has not replenished its PS5 inventory and Sony's next-gen console remains sold out.

Costco PS5 Restock

Neither version of the PS5 is available from Costco and the situation has not improved for quite some time. If there are any further developments, @mattswider and @GYXdeals will be the first to let you know.
