Three quarters of the famous Sex and the City quartet are returning to the small screen in the upcoming TV series And Just Like That...
Sarah Jessica Parker of course returns as lead character Carrie Bradshaw but one of her on screen pals will be glaringly missing from the reboot. While some actors return, the cast will also include an abundance of newcomers to the Sex and the City franchise.
The show is set to air later this year on HBO Max, so in anticipation of the show's launch, let's take a look at everything we know about the And Just Like That... so far.
Which Sex and the City stars return in And Just Like That...
Sex and the City originals Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will reprise their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes, respectively -- but it looks definite that fan-favorite Kim Cattrall won't be returning as Samantha Jones.
Early trailer footage released by HBO shows Chris Noth is back as Carrie's husband Mr. Big. Other characters from the original, Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), Anthony Marentino (Mario Cantone), Steve Brady (David Eigenberg) and Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson) have also been confirmed to return by HBO.
In August Deadline reported that Julie Halston will also reprise her role as the famous New York City socialite Bitsy Von Muffling.
New cast members joining And Just Like That...
The social media accounts for And Just Like That... have revealed first look photos at some of the new cast members and revealed their character names.
Instagram posts told fans that actor and singer Sara Ramirez was joining the cast as Che Diaz. British actress Sarita Choudhury has been cast as Seema Patel while The Morning Show's Karen Pittman is set to play Dr. Nya Wallace.
Nicole Ari Parker (Empire) has been cast as Lisa Todd Wexley. As well as having her character revealed on the And Just Like That... Instagram account, Sarah Jessica shared an image of Nicole Ari posing with the original Sex and the City cast -- minus Cattrall.
Cathy Ang, Niall Cunningham, Alexa Swinton and Cree Ciccino have also been confirmed to join the cast by HBO. Ang and Swinton play Lily and Rose Goldenblatt while Cunningham is Brady Hobbes and Ciccino plays his girlfriend Luisa Torres.
Hamilton actor Christopher Jackson play's Herbert Wexley, husband of Lisa Todd according to Deadline while LeRoy McClain joins the cast as Andre Rashad Wallace, husband of Pittman's character.
When is And Just Like That... on HBO Max?
And Just Like That... was confirmed by HBO Max in January 2021, and the start date was announced vaguely as Fall 2021.
The Sex and the City reboot, which follows on from the stories of the original series and the two movies, is scheduled to have 10 half-hour episodes. It hasn't been announced if each episode will air weekly or if the whole season will drop at once.
