Sneaking out in The Sims 4 High School Years is one of the most interesting parts of the new expansion. Forget attending classes and going to prom. Sneaking out to hang out with friends is an even bigger part of the high school experience.
The Sims 4 High School Years is a new expansion pack for The Sims 4 that lets you relive all the ups and downs from those halcyon high school years. You'll get to know your peers and teachers while heading to class, and even celebrate at graduation.
But some of the most fun comes from being the rebellious teenage spirit you always wanted to be during high school. You can choose whether you want to make your Sims get straight As and carry on an impressive school career, or whether they're going to act out. And sneaking off to hang with friends is certainly acting out.
If your Sims' parents won't let them go out at night to that big party, or if they just want to exercise autonomy and do what they feel is right (because we all thought we knew best at that age), here's how to sneak out in The Sims 4 High School Years.
The Sims 4 High School Years: How to Sneak Out
Does your high school Sim want to rebel against their parents or caregivers? No problem. It's natural for kids at that age, but it may present a problem for you. While playing through The Sims 4 High School Years, your Sim will occasionally receive requests to hang out with friends.
These hangouts will take place at another Sim's home or at another lot. You can accept the invitation on their behalf, but you will need to find a way to get there: by earning the Sim's parents' permission to go out, or by sneaking out.
It's not guaranteed that your Sim's guardians will allow them to go out, though you can always ask to make things a little easier. So if you find yourself faced with having to get your Sim out of the house without permission, it's time to start sneaking around. To do so, you'll need a couple of important items. Be sure you have the Window and the Trellis. You will need both items, not just one, to pull this off successfully.
Once you have both items, you will need to place the Window in an area where there are no obstructions. Place the Window accordingly and then place the Trellis beyond the Window. Click the Window or the ground outside where you've placed it and you should see a new option: "Go to Hang Out with Friends" and "Go Here." Choose the "Hang Out" option and your Sim will begin the process of sneaking out.
Be warned, however, that your Sim may not sneak out after curfew, as odd as that sounds. If you do have a Sim that sneaks out beyond that time period, they'll just disappear until the morning, but they won't be at that hangout, and they'll essentially be unavailable for a period of time.
