Antonio Conte will be given a treasure chest of funds at Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in January to help spur the Blues on to a title challenge.

The hierarchy at Stamford Bridge will extend Conte's budget for transfers further than planned after a massive improvement in form in recent weeks, according to the Evening Standard.

The Italian, who became Jose Mourinho's permanent successor in the summer, has transformed Chelsea's fortunes following defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool in September.

A run of five consecutive Premier League victories has propelled the London club up to second in the table, just one point behind Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Conte is believed to be keen on returning for summer target Leonardo Bonucci, who he had failed to sign from Juventus before the transfer window closed on August 31.

The 29-year-old center-back, who was part of Conte's Italy side at Euro 2016, has been valued at around £50 million ($62 million).

Burnley's Michael Keane and Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson are also believed to have been on Chelsea's radar.
