Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he will only get better for Manchester United this season after scoring the winner in Sunday's Community Shield.

The 34-year-old Swede struck in the 83rd minute to see Jose Mourinho's team lift the trophy at Wembley Stadium with a 2-1 victory over Premier League holders Leicester City.

The headed goal was Ibrahimovic's only real contribution to the game, but he believes he will be more of an influence as he becomes embedded into the team.

"My individual performances will come," he said to MUTV. "We're in the beginning and building up my physique, my conditioning, and I am yet to know the team-mates.

"When all these things are settled, things grow easily. You can then just play your game and enjoy.

"Things are coming together. We're in the beginning and we're just getting to know each other, especially with me."

United's first game of the season is at Bournemouth on Sunday.
