"Source: The Mets have an offer on the table to Kyle Tucker at 50mm AAV. Looking to have a decision made between Mets, Blue Jays, and Dodgers in the next day or two," John Mincone wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Mincone previously reported the Mets had made Tucker an offer with $50 million annual average value, which was then confirmed by MLB insider Robert Murray.

"The New York Mets are pursuing superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker – and have made a short-term offer worth $50 million per season, sources say. John Mincone first reported the Mets’ offer. The Mets’ presence in the Tucker sweepstakes is noteworthy and makes sense. First, team owner Steve Cohen has the ability to outspend any team. They have a glaring need for another outfielder and bat after trading Brandon Nimmo and moving on from Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil," Murray writes. "They have shown an ability to be disciplined in negotiations this winter, evidenced by the departures of Alonso and Edwin Diaz."

Tucker would be a key addition for any of the three finalists. Both the Blue Jays and Dodgers played in the final game of the 2025 season and are looking to return to the Fall Classic in 2026.

The Mets missed the playoffs completely last season, and after losing fan favorites this winter, could quickly change the narrative of the team by landing the top free agent of the offseason.
