Ohio State suffered a surprising 23-24 loss to Texas this past Saturday, after entering the fourth quarter with a 20-point lead over the Longhorns.

The Buckeyes' fourth-quarter collapse featured potential Heisman-contending quarterback Arch Manning steadily guiding his team on multiple drives, scoring an incredible three touchdowns in the final quarter. After that final touchdown, the Longhorns held a shocking one-point lead, and the Buckeyes had little time remaining to work with.

Following the loss to start their season, head coach Ryan Day made it very clear how his team will react and process this loss as they prepare for their next game.

Despite having 36 more yards of total offense than Texas, Ohio State surrendered what seemed like an insurmountable lead. Texas converted 9 of 16 third downs and 2 of 3 fourth downs to stage their successful comeback.

Day's team went into the game in Austin, Texas, ranked No. 1 in the country in both Top 25 polls. With the loss, the Buckeyes dropped to No. 6, with Texas taking the top spot.

Now, Day and Ohio State's message reveals what sounds like a winning philosophy as they continue to pursue the CFP and a National Championship. Under his leadership, staff and players accept blame for a difficult early-season loss and move on, focusing squarely on preparing for the next game.

In their next matchup, the Buckeyes host Kent State on Saturday afternoon in what looks like a chance for the coaches and players to redeem themselves, potentially taking out their frustration on an out-of-conference opponent.
