The Green Bay Packers' 2025-26 NFL season came to a close with Saturday's 31-27 wild card round loss against the division-rival Chicago Bears.
Green Bay held a 21-6 lead over Chicago heading into the fourth quarter at Soldier Field, but Caleb Williams and the Bears offense scored 25 points in the final period to complete their feverish comeback.
This crushing loss raised questions regarding the future of head coach Matt LaFleur. That being said, he's widely expected to return as the team's leader in 2026 as he and the Packers reportedly iron out details on a new deal.

While the Packers are likely to retain LaFleur, one of his key assistants could be leaving the organization this offseason.
Green Bay defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is scheduled to interview for head coaching vacancies with the Titans, Falcons, Cardinals, Raiders and Dolphins.

LaFleur "fully anticipates" Hafley landing one of these jobs.
When speaking with reporters on Monday, the Packers head coach was asked if Hafley would be replaced by an existing defensive staff member or an outside hire.
“I think all options are on the table,” LaFleur said, via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I think that’s something we’ll be working through. I fully anticipate, I think Hafley is going to do a great job on the interview, and I fully anticipate him getting one of these. And I would be so happy for him because he deserves it. He’s a great friend, he’s a great man, he’s a great coach. I’d hate to see him leave for us, but at the same time that’s what this business is all about. He’s earned those opps, so I’m excited for him in that regard, but we’ll make sure we’ve got a good plan in place.”

After serving as Boston College's head coach from 2020-23, Hafley joined LaFleur's Green Bay staff as defensive coordinator in 2024.
LaFleur is 76-40-1 since taking over as the Packers' head coach in 2019. After making back-to-back NFC Championship appearances in his first two seasons, Green Bay hasn't made it past the divisional round since.
