The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will meet in Super Bowl LX after winning their respective AFC and NFC Championship games this past weekend.
Both teams are former Super Bowl winners, with New England having the more extensive history of Lomboard Trophy victories, thanks to the work of retired quarterback Tom Brady and former Pats coach Bill Belichick, among others. Now, the Patriots feature a brand-new roster, led by quarterback Drake Maye and coached by Mike Vrabel.
On the flip side, the Seahawks have won just one of three despite participating in all three, including one against the Patriots. Their 2014 win came with star players such as quarterback Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch.

One of their all-time greats, running back Shaun Alexander, retired before that big win, but recently spoke with Kay Adams on the team's return trip to Super Bowl LX and how he feels about Patriots' Maye, a player he keeps in touch with regularly.

During part of the chat, Adams mentioned that Maye won the Shaun Alexander Freshman Player of the Year award in 2022 and is now starting a Super Bowl, which must create a dilemma for Alexander about rooting for Maye or the Seahawks.
“It is wild having, as I would call him, my nephew play so well this year. I’m so proud of him,” Alexander said on “Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams.”
“Super proud of him. Super excited for him. I know we have the No. 1 defense in Seattle, so I want him to somehow have a good game but lose,” the former NFL MVP winner told Adams, adding, “You gotta pick a side.”
Maye is among the finalists to win this year's NFL Most Valuable Player Award, which Alexander claimed for his brilliant 2005 season. He joined other running backs who won the award, including Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders and Chicago Bears legend Walter Payton.
Alexander said he still wouldn't be upset if Maye has the greatest game for a second-year quarterback ever in the Super Bowl. However, he's still pulling for his former squad to win the big game.
The Patriots found a way to win in snowy and cold Denver against a tough Broncos team and their defense, escaping the AFC Championship with a 10-7 victory. That said, the Seahawks will present a new challenge for the Pats in a warmer-weather stadium: Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium.
As of this writing, Seattle is listed as a 3.5-point favorite at multiple sportsbooks, with many believing the Seahawks have the better team while the Patriots have the better quarterback.
