'Super Smash Bros.' Nintendo Switch: Unlikely Roster Additions Rumored

Super Smash Bros. for Switch is Nintendo's biggest offering at E3 2018, and now a new rumor has popped up regarding the game's roster.

Vergeben, a leaker who has a mixed track record of revealing information about fighting games, posted about the roster for Super Smash Bros on the GameFaqs message boards . The user claims their source is the same person who told them Metroid Prime 4 is being developed by Bandai Namco (which has yet to be confirmed) and that Ridley from the Metroid series will be a newcomer to Smash .

They go on to say that Ice Climbers will return on the Switch version, after missing the Wii U/3DS Smash games due to technical restrictions on the Nintendo handheld. This new Super Smash Bros. game is a new installment in the franchise and not a port.

Vergeben also claims Simon Belmont from the Castlevania series will join the Super Smash Bros. roster, along with every character from the Wii U/3DS games.

It's not yet clear that these rumors are legitimate. Vergeben was correct in leaking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Injustice 2, but also made a lot of claims regarding Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and its future DLC, which have yet to be announced.

Nintendo's E3 2018 presentation will stream live on Tuesday, June 12 at 12 p.m. EDT, and fans can expect new footage of Super Smash Bros. The game will be playable for E3 2018 attendees, but pre-registration is required.
