Ann Coulter Calls Out Donald Trump Over 'No New Wall at All' Report, Says President Is 'Too Chicken' to Attack Matt Drudge

Ann Coulter has joined fellow conservative Matt Drudge in attacking Donald Trump following a report stating that the president that has not built a single mile of new border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border since he came into office.

On July 22, Matt Drudge's influential right-wing news aggregation website The Drudge Report ran the Washington Examiner's story on how the Trump administration has only replaced around 205 miles of already installed barriers in the 30 months he has been president as its main article.

The Drudge Report ran the story on the site with its own headline of "Paper: No New Wall At All!"

Tweeting a picture of Drudge' s headline, which features heavily across the top of the site, Coulter wrote: "I guess @realDonaldTrump is too chicken to call @DRUDGE a wacky nutjob."

The "wacky nutjob" line in reference to what Trump said about Coulter after she previously attacked him for not delivering on his border wall, despite it being a key promise of his 2016 presidential election campaign.

"Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn't figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border," Trump tweeted in March. "Major sections of Wall are being built and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly."

Coulter, who was previously a staunch supporter of the president, including publishing a book entitled In Trump We Trust, has increasingly spoke out about his failure to act upon his border wall promise.

Speaking to HBO's Vice News Tonight during the government shutdown over Trump's $5.7 billion funding demand for his wall, Coulter suggested Trump is "dead in the water" if his passion project does not get built.

In a statement on July 11, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency announced that they had completed construction of 50 miles of wall in areas including San Diego, California; El Paso, Texas; and the Rio Grande Valley, following more than $1.6 billion of funding received in 2017 and 2018.

According to the Washington Examiner, the funding was meant to replace old walls as well as construct new barriers, which the Trump administration has failed to achieve.

An unnamed administration official blamed the lack of progress on Democrats attempting to block funding.

"The wall projects are moving along as quickly as practicably possible given the unprecedented obstruction from Democrat lawmakers to protect and prolong open borders," the official said in a statement. "These same obstructionists, including many who once supported border barriers, are the same people who would abolish ICE and DHS, let criminals run free across our borders, and turned a blind eye to the scourge human trafficking and child sex slavery enabled by their policies."

In a tweet, Trump said his administration still deserves credit for replacing sections of old walls along the border.

"When we rip down and totally replace a badly broken and dilapidated Barrier on the Southern Border, something which cannot do the job, the Fake News Media gives us zero credit for building a new Wall," he tweeted. "We have replaced many miles of old Barrier with powerful new Walls!"
