'Billboard Music Awards' 2022 Lineup: All the Performers and How to Watch

The Billboard Music Awards 2022 are coming to NBC this May, with an all-star lineup of performers planned for the ceremony at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Travis Scott is among the most notable BBMA performers this year. The rapper will be giving his first televised performance since 10 people died in a crushing incident during his Astroworld Festival gig in November 2021.

Per BBMAs executive producer Diddy, it was at his insistence that Scott is playing, with the rap legend saying in an Instagram video: "For the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday I made a request, I made a demand. I said 'My brother Travis Scott has to perform. I'm executive producing, he has to perform." He added in a statement to Revolt: "I am uncanceling the canceled."

The 2022 BBMAs, however, won't feature the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band was due to perform at the ceremony for the first time since 1999, but had to cancel due to what the Billboard Music Awards Instagram account called "unforeseen circumstances." Machine Gun Kelly and Dan + Shay were added to the performer lineup shortly after the news broke of RHCP dropping out

Blige, meanwhile, will be receiving the Billboard Icon Award a few months after her rapturously received Super Bowl performance.

Peacock is live-streaming the ceremony at the same time it airs on NBC. The ceremony, however, will only be available to those who have one of the two paid tiers of Peacock – Peacock Premium ($4.99 a month/$49.99 a year) or Peacock Premium Plus ($9.99 a month/$99.99 a year).

The streaming service no longer offers a free trial, but there is a way of watching the Billboard Music Awards live online for free. An NBC live stream is offered on online cable alternatives like YouTubeTV, Hulu Plus Live TV and Sling. Most of these services offer a free trial for new subscribers.
