Candace Owens 'Thinking About Running for President,' Aubrey Huff Wants to Be Her VP

Controversial commentator Candace Owens said she is "thinking about running for President," in a tweet posted on Saturday night.

The conservative writer—known for her pro-Trump activism, criticism of the Black Lives Matter movement and spats with celebrities—made the remark alongside an emoji of the Stars and Stripes and the words "I love America."

Owens did not state when she might consider running for the Oval Office. At 31, she is not currently of age. Presidents and senators must be at least 35, according to the Constitution, while House representatives may be 25.

However, she would be the minimum required age when the next presidential term is scheduled to begin in 2024. Owens has previously hinted at running that year.

In November, days after major networks such as CNN and Fox had called the results of the 2020 presidential race, Owens tweeted that Joe Biden is "not the president-elect" and accused the media of "brainwashing" Americans.

Boxer Devon Alexander picked up on the post, asking: "What's going to happen to this one [Biden] after Trump is out of office."

Owens responded: "2024 is a long way off... Maybe I'll run as his successor."

Aubrey Huff, a former MLB player and vocal Donald Trump supporter, has volunteered to be her running mate, if she does.

"If you do it I'll be your VP!" he tweeted in response to Owens' recent post.

Less than two weeks ago, Huff speculated that Trump would become president again before June. "Trump is president in 4 months," he tweeted in response to a conservative comedian asking when they thought now-VP Kamala Harris would become president.

Owens worked as a director of communications for Turning Point USA, a staunchly pro-Trump advocacy group that campaigns on American campuses, before quitting in 2019.

She shot to prominence as a right-wing favorite with her YouTube channel Red Black Pill, a "The Matrix"-inspired men's rights subreddit name. She consistently criticized liberal groups and touted Trump's presidency in her videos, with titles such as "WTF? Black Lives Matter Has a List of Demands for White People!"

Her "Blexit" campaign encouraged Black Americans not to support the Democratic Party ahead of the 2020 presidential vote. Trump's first in-person event since being hospitalized for COVID-19 came at a rally for the group in October.

Her new podcast on The Daily Wire launched in January this year, the same month she welcomed a new baby boy with her British husband, George Farmer.
