Cat Caught in Food Container Struggles to Get Out in Cute Clip: 'Busted'

A cat named Sassy is delighting the internet after getting caught in a food container, struggling to get out in a viral TikTok video.

The TikTok, which has been viewed 3.1 million times and liked over 420,000 times, was posted on March 9. TikToker @brittgardner83, or Britt Gardner, shared the post, which has garnered over 2,800 comments.

The video started with the TikToker walking over to where Sassy was leaning into her large plastic food container by using her front paws to balance on the side, her legs in the air with the top of the lid on her back.

An empty food bowl sat nearby, and she appeared to be eating the food inside the bin when her owner said, "Sassy!"

The cat proceeded to seriously struggle to get out of the huge container, flailing her legs around to escape the plastic bin despite not being able to touch the ground.

However, eventually she escaped when she got her bearings, managing to get one leg on the ground, then the rest of her out of the bin, walking away like nothing happened.

In a comment to another TikToker, the creator revealed: "This cat eats better than anybody else's cat ever. She licked that green bowl clean just before she decided to climb in the bin."

According to Statista, the total average expenses for cats in the country in 2020 totaled $687. Cat owners spent on average $329 on food, $125 on vet care and vaccines, $26 on grooming, $89 for supplies, $24 for gifts or splurge items, $57 on insurance, $16 on clothing and accessories, $13 on daycare and kenneling, and $8 on training.

People loved the viral video of the furry feline getting into trouble. "This made my day," a viewer admitted.

Some TikTokers imagined what the cat would say in the situation. "It's not what it looks like, I swear," a viewer said.

The cat's name was called into question. "Well, her name is Sassy, what did you expect?" a TikToker asked.

Others mentioned the empty bowl. "Aw her bowl was empty...She needs food and water," a user wrote.

One viewer brought up their own point about the creator of the video. "The way you were standing there watching them struggling," a TikToker said.

While others issued a warning to the TikToker who posted the content. "I've heard of cats getting trapped in their food containers and suffocating to death," a TikToker weighed in. "Please keep it out of reach!"

Some people had comments like, "Cats will be cats," and "Omg. This made me laugh so hard...Busted."
