Chrissy Teigen is Trending After Donald Trump Referred to Her as John Legend's 'Filthy Mouthed Wife'

President Donald Trump went on a tirade against John Legend and his "filthy mouthed" wife Chrissy Teigen after the singer appeared on an MSNBC show about criminal justice reform.

Trump appeared to be upset that he and fellow Republicans were not given enough credit for helping to pass Criminal Justice Reform, also known as the First Step Act, on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and chose to hit out against the EGOT-winning singer and his wife, a model and TV presenter.

In December 2018, Trump signed the First Step Act into law after it was passed in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The act reduces mandatory minimum sentences in certain cases and will see more than 3,000 inmates released.

During the show, John Legend urges people to get involved with his Free America organization, which he set up to help "transform America's criminal justice system." He also urged viewers to "become voters that think about the criminal justice as an issue they can affect" and to be "aware of what you governors and legislators are doing in your state" in order to help reform the criminal justice system.

In a series of tweets Sunday night (September 8), Trump wrote: "When all of the people pushing so hard for Criminal Justice Reform were unable to come even close to getting it done, they came to me as a group and asked for my help. I got it done with a group of Senators & others who would never have gone for it.

"Obama couldn't come close, and many others, were profusely grateful (at that time!). I SIGNED IT INTO LAW, no one else did, & Republicans deserve much credit.

"But now that it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise. Guys like boring musician @johnlegend, and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is—but I didn't see them around when we needed help getting it passed.

"'Anchor' @LesterHoltNBC doesn't even bring up the subject of President Trump or the Republicans when talking about the importance or passage of Criminal Justice Reform.

He added: "They only talk about the minor players, or people that had nothing to do with it...And the people that so desperately sought my help when everyone else had failed, all they talk about now is Impeaching President Trump!"

Teigen responded to the outburst in a tweet referencing her daughter. "Luna, remember the night before your first day of school? When mommy was making your sign and the p**** a** b**** president had his 9th meltdown of the day," Teigen wrote.

"The absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn't speak in the special, nor was I mentioned. I'm cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a b****," she added.

Teigen then started a campaign to get #PresidentP****A**B**** trending on Twitter.

I love you guys

Donald Trump is now blaming his impeachment on:

- President Obama

- Chrissy Teigen

- John Legend

- Van Jones

- Lester Holt

Also, Trump is too much of a coward to even tag @chrissyteigen in his rant, because he’s particularly afraid of strong women of color.

Also responding to Trump's remarks, Legend wrote: "Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody—ANYBODY—will praise you. Melania, please praise this man. He needs you. Your country needs you, Melania."

Earlier this year, Teigen was one of several high-profile names who urged a boycott of several fitness companies, including Equinox and SoulCycle, after it was revealed their majority owner hosted a fundraiser for Trump's 2020 re-election campaign.
