Jake Paul FaceTimes Donald Trump, Lists it Top of Achievements

Jake Paul—the YouTuber who once called COVID-19 a "hoax" and most news "fake"—has proudly revealed he has spoken to former President Donald Trump over FaceTime.

In a series of Instagram photos posted on Tuesday, Paul, aged 24, shared a screenshot of his call with Trump, as well as a picture of himself posing with a whiteboard apparently listing perceived achievements over the past two weeks. The first item on the list reads "Face-Timed Donald Trump."

Paul—a Vine star turned YouTube personality, recording artist and boxer—previously posted a cryptic tweet on Friday that said "TODAY IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE."

The political leanings of Logan Paul's younger brother came into question following an interview The Daily Beast published last November.

When senior entertainment editor Marlow Stern questioned him on crowded maskless parties held at his Calabasas home during the pandemic, Paul urged the U.S. to "open up" and claimed the virus to be a "hoax." Later in the interview, Paul labelled "98 percent of news" as "fake," echoing a common Trump refrain against the media.

Paul later backtracked by affirming his belief in the virus, as well as claiming The Daily Beast "misquoted" him and published fabrications. This resulted in Stern posting a recording of the interview, in which Paul could be heard making the statements he claimed were decontextualized.

Scandal has long followed the younger Paul due to his over-the-top character and social media content. He was first mired in infamy following a 2017 news report detailing neighbors' complaints over excessive noise and parties, which resulted in his firing from Disney Channel show Bizaardvark.

Amid increased public scrutiny of social media influencers' behavior on and offline, TikTok personality Justine Paradise alleged Paul sexually assaulted her in 2019. He has denied the allegations.
