Keeping Up with the Kardashians is ending after 20 seasons, 14 years and nearly 280 episodes with the final show on June 10 and a two-part reunion on June 17 and 24.
As the E! show's stars like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are some of the world's biggest social media stars, it's no surprise that they have taken to Instagram to discuss their feelings about their show coming to an end. Here's what they said.
Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney has received much of the backlash from fans over the show ending. As she has made more comments than the rest of the girls about being uncomfortable with the filming her life, many viewers have cited her as the reason the show is over – especially after Khloe said on the show, "Kourtney thought it was time [to end the show] three years ago."
On Keeping Up with the Kardashians itself, Kourtney spoke about this with Scott Disick. She said: "It's so funny, there's all these memes online of like, 'Kourtney Kardashian single-handedly ended KUWTK,'...they're saying it as a joke but I'm sure there's people who really believe it."
She went on to explain: "Every time our contract's up we always have this conversation of like, 'Do we want to keep doing this? What are we happy with? What do we want to do?' If everyone wanted to keep doing it I'm sure I would have kept doing it too."
Kris Jenner
Reacting to the news on Instagram, the "mom-ager" said: "We are so beyond grateful to everyone who has watched and supported our family these past 14 incredible years.
"We will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever. Thank you for joining us on this crazy ride!!"
She also wrote in a statement shared across her social media: "After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who've watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We'll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we've met along the way."
On the show, she told the crew of the E! reality smash: "It's been a really excruciating decision to make. This journey's been the most incredible thing that we've ever done and we can't even express the appreciation we have for you along the way."
Kim Kardashian
Kim mirrored some of her mom's comments, writing on Instagram: "Without Keeping Up with The Kardashians, I wouldn't be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever."
She also spoke to Grazia USA about why the show is ending. She told the outlet, "sometimes we just need a break. It's really simple. We just need a minute to regroup. You know, we haven't had a break for 14 years. We've gone in filming a season, then a spin off and I think there's no other way to say it other than, we just live such big lives. And we have kids now. And they need us."
Khloe Kardashian
As widely reported, Khloe has been the most devastated by the end of the show. During the filmed goodbye to the film crew, she said: "I hope you guys feel respected and appreciated because even if we don't say it, like, I think of you guys as my second family. I know we're all really, really grateful, and when it's happy, we're happy, but when people are there for you when life f**king sucks, that's what matters."
In a scene from KUWTK that saw the family discuss the show's end, Khloe says: "For me, I'm such a creature of habit so change is scary. I'm not good with change and I think there's a lot of change this year so it feels heavy."
Kylie Jenner
The model, who was just 10 years old when Keeping Up with the Kardashians began, told James Charles: "It's the end of a chapter, but we all came to the decision that it was just time to just move on and let it be great. We could just keep going and going and going, but we've just got to let it be."
