Kellyanne Conway Slams 'Thin Skin + Thick Skull' Nancy Pelosi After Fiery Wolf Blitzer Exchange Over Stimulus

Kellyanne Conway, former White House counselor to Republican President Donald Trump wrote in a tweet published Tuesday evening that Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had exhibited "Thin Skin + Thick Skull" in her contentious CNN interview.

During the CNN interview, host Wolf Blitzer asked Pelosi about her refusal to consider a $1.8 trillion stimulus package offered by the Trump administration.

Pelosi called Blitzer, an "apologist" for Republican political positions and added, "You really don't know what you're talking about."

The Democrat also condemned the anchor for allegedly blaming her for the suffering of Americans amid the economic downturn without discussing the contents of Trump's proposal or the Democrats' counter-proposals.

She's so rude. Thin Skin + Thick Skull = Bad Combo

"She's so rude. Thin Skin + Thick Skull = Bad Combo" Conway tweeted on Tuesday, alongside a report on Pelosi and Blitzer's fiery argument.

Since joining Trump's election team in 2016, Conway has staunchly defended the president from criticism and attacked his political opponents. During her tenure, a watchdog group claimed that she violated The Hatch Act more than 60 times. The Hatch Act is a law that prohibits executive branch employees from using their position to influence elections or for political purposes.

In late August, Conway announced her intention to leave the White House by the start of September in order to focus on her family. Both her eldest daughter, Claudia Conway, and husband, George Conway, have been vocal opponents of Trump.

At the start of October, Claudia Conway revealed on TikTok that her mother had tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a maskless, non-socially distanced event at the White House Rose Garden. At least 11 other attendees from that event tested positive for coronavirus.

Conway later confirmed that she had tested positive for COVID-19. Despite being in quarantine ever since, she has continued to tweet in support of Trump's re-election campaign.

Early into her tenure as Trump's spokesperson, Conway defended then-White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer's claims about about the size of Trump's inauguration crowd.

The PolitiFact website of the fact-checking firm The Poynter Institute gave Conway a 90 percent rating of making either "mostly false" or completely "false" statements during her time as a White House staffer.

Newsweek contacted Conway for comment.
