Marvel's 'What If...?': Who Stars in the Voice Cast for Episode 4?

Marvel's animated series What If...? has had quite the star-studded cast over the course of its first season, and Episode 4 is no exception.

Examining the events of the multiverse, What If...? explores how key events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could have happened differently if certain moments were changed.

The fourth episode, titled "What if Doctor Strange lost his heart instead of his hands," focuses on its titular sorcerer and his fall from grace, and it is an alternate retelling of the film Doctor Strange.

Rather than losing the ability to use his hands after a car accident like in the 2016 film, Stephen Strange loses his heart following the loss of Dr. Christine Palmer.

Grief-stricken, Strange decides to use the Eye of Agamotto in order to change the past and save Palmer from her untimely death.

And Newsweek can reveal who stars in the latest episode of the animated series.

Who stars in What If...? episode 4?

As he has done in every episode so far, Jeffrey Wright takes on the role of The Watcher, a cosmic being who narrates the series and watches as events unfold from afar.

Benedict Cumberbatch returns to his titular role as Doctor Strange, once again adopting his American accent for alternate versions of the same character.

Rachel McAdams reprises her role as Dr. Christine Palmer, a character she first played in the 2016 film, which was directed by Scott Derrickson.

Another actor returning to the fray is Benedict Wong as Wong, who he has portrayed since 2016 and will next be seen playing in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Tilda Swinton is also back as The Ancient One, Strange's mentor who holds the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

Ike Amadi, meanwhile, takes on the new role of O'Bengh, a librarian at the Lost Library of Cagliostro who meets with Strange in the course of the episode.

In Doctor Strange, the Book of Cagliostro was stolen by Kaecilius, a former Masters of the Mystic Arts member, and his followers to gain power from the Dark Dimension and give Dormammu access to Earth.

While O'Bengh did not appear in Doctor Strange, the character is believed to be the person currently using the name Cagliostro in the Marvel comics.

Another character that appeared in the episode is Christine Everhart, played by Leslie Bibb, who previously appeared in Iron Man and Iron Man 2.

Marvel's What If...? airs weekly on Wednesdays on Disney+.
