When Does 'The Masked Singer' Start? How to Watch Season 8 of Fox Show

The Masked Singer is returning to Fox for Season 8, with fans ready to turn detective and guess who the performers are behind the masks.

The show sees celebrities perform in head-to-toe costumes and the judging panel as well as the viewers at home, are tasked with guessing the identity of those on stage.

Last season, musician Teyana Taylor was crowned as the winner, having spent her time on the show in the Firefly costume.

Now, a whole host of famous faces are ready to take to the stage and battle it out to be crowned the winner of The Masked Singer trophy.

When Does The Masked Singer Season 8 Start?

Season 8 of The Masked Singer is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, September 21 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Episodes will then air at that same time slot each Wednesday.

How to Watch The Masked Singer Season 8

Fans can catch the new episodes of The Masked Singer on Fox as they air.

They will then be available to stream on Hulu after their original airing.

Who Are the Judges on The Masked Singer Season 8?

Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke are back on the judging panel for The Masked Singer.

Long-time host Nick Cannon, who recently welcomed his ninth child, is also reprising his role.

What Are the Costumes on The Masked Singer Season 8?

It has been confirmed that The Masked Singer's Season 8 costumes (or masks as they are sometimes referred to) are: Avocado, Beetle, Bride, Fortune Teller, Gopher, Harp, Hedgehog, Hummingbird, Knight, Lambs, Maize, Milkshake, Mummies, Panther, Pi-Rat, Robo Girl, Scarecrow, Sir Bugaboo, Venus Fly Trap and Walrus.

The Masked Singer executive producer Craig Plestis has revealed that this season the costumes are actually clues for the identities of the performers.

He told EW: "Especially for certain ones like Venus Fly Trap, that costume is a clue. This season, all these costumes, there's a real reason why each celebrity is in each costume."

According to Gold Derby, the Season 8 cast boasts, as a group, 16 Emmys and 10 Teen Choice Awards, as well as 32 Grammy and 4 Golden Globe nominations.

In addition, the celebrities have reportedly written 42 books, collected eight gold records, and have five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame between them.

How Will The Masked Singer Season 8 Work?

Fox has confirmed a major change to the format for The Masked Singer's eighth season.

The celebrities will be divided into groups, as they were last season, but this time around they will compete within their group to be King or Queen.

Each week only one contestant, the King or Queen, will make it through to the next stage and all the other performers will be unmasked.

In previous seasons only one contestant has been unmasked per week.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
