The 5 Questions the 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Finale Must Answer After Episode 5

Obi-Wan Kenobi is already almost at its end, with just one episode left to complete the story of the Jedi Master.

Throughout of the past five episodes Obi-Wan (played by Ewan McGregor) has been trying to rescue Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) from the clutches of the Empire, and has even faced his former Padawan Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen), to do it.

The show's penultimate episode left a number of questions up in the air as it inched closer to the events of the original Star Wars film, A New Hope.

When asked about the show's plot and if it has a definitive ending, writer Joby Harold told Newsweek: "Obviously I can't speak to where we're going, but I can say that as a story I wanted it to be six chapters, that's everything that [showrunner Deborah] Chow wanted, and the team wanted, is to try to tell a complete [story].

"It's a limited [series], right? So, by definition, it should feel like a three-act structure in its architecture, that it has a beginning, and a middle, and an end. So, within the story, the contained story, hopefully it concludes in a satisfying way."

With that in mind, here are the five questions that the Star Wars Disney+ series must answer.

The 5 Questions the Obi-Wan Kenobi Finale Must Answer After Episode 5

1. Will Reva Go After Luke?

The end of Episode 5 saw Reva (Moses Ingram) come across Obi-Wan's broken communicator, which played a message he had received from Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) saying he would head to Tatooine to protect Luke (Grant Feely) if he didn't hear from the Jedi Master soon.

Obi-Wan sensed through the Force that Reva had heard this message as he admitted that "something [was] wrong" and looked to Leia as they escaped.

While not certain, this moment in the penultimate episode suggests that Reva is going to go after Luke as a way to get her revenge, and perhaps may explain how Darth Vader learned his and Padme Amidala's (Natalie Portman) children survived.

2. Can Obi-Wan Finally Get Leia Home?

The question that has been set out since the start of the limited series has been whether Obi-Wan could get Leia home successfully.

Having faced several trials along the way it appears that Obi-Wan's quest may soon be at an end, though whether Leia's adoptive father will be in Alderaan when they arrive is another question.

3. Is Bail Organa Going to Confront Reva?

In his message Bail Organa said that if he didn't hear from Obi-Wan soon then he'd make his way to Tatooine, and the Jedi Master didn't have time to respond to the message. This suggests the Alderaan senator will indeed go to the other planet.

If he does then Bail could well come across Reva as she tries to apprehend Luke, and the pair could go head-to-head over her involvement in Leia's kidnapping.

4. How Will Obi-Wan and Darth Vader Have the "Rematch of the Century"?

When Obi-Wan Kenobi was first announced, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said it would have the "rematch of the century" between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.

So far, the two Jedi have faced off against one another once, but Obi-Wan appeared out of practice after a decade of not using his lightsaber and closing himself off from the Force.

With only one episode left until the end of the series it stands to reason that the aforementioned "rematch of the century" will take place in the finale, and bring the story to a close with an epic fight between the former friends.

5. Will Reva Die or Will She Join the Rebel Alliance?

Episode 5 of the Disney+ show also revealed a surprising origin story for Reva, as the audience learned that she was a youngling when Order 66 was executed in prequel film Revenge of the Sith.

In fact, Reva was one of the younglings that then Anakin Skywalker attacked and left for dead, and she revealed to Obi-Wan that her decision to rise the ranks of the Inquisitorious was so she could get close to her attacker and get revenge.

Darth Vader later revealed that he is aware of exactly who she is and he tries to kill her again, though she once again survives the attempt.

Given she is not a character featured in the original trilogy, there are a few ways in which Reva's story could end in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Either Reva will die at the hands of Darth Vader or she could return to the Light Side and join the blossoming Rebel Alliance, it wouldn't be the first time a Dark Side user returns to the Light and could be one way she survives the events of the TV show.

Obi-Wan Kenobi concludes on Wednesday, June 22 on Disney+.
