'Pokémon Go' Research Task Update: New August Missions Include Spinda, Shiny Houndour and Snubbull
The latest Pokémon Go update is live and not only has it changed the Research Breakthroughs to include Raikou, but the research tasks found in PokeStops are now themed after Electric types.
Changing research tasks are nothing new in Pokémon Go , as they normally coincide with new updates and events. This time, the release of Raikou outside of Raid Battles has caused Electric-type Pokémon to appear from certain tasks.
The latest update will also allow trainers a chance to catch a Spinda for the first time. Multiple reports claim the Normal-type will be available to catch after completing one of the new research tasks in August. Reports of wild Houndour and Snubbull appearing in their shiny form have also surfaced.
Here's a list of the new research tasks for August separated by item rewards and Pokémon encounters. Note that this list is still being updated.
