Queen Elizabeth II 'Delighted' at Granddaughter Zara Tindall's Pregnancy
Queen Elizabeth II is "delighted" at the news granddaughter Zara Tindall is pregnant with her third child, a spokesperson said.
The monarch, 94, and husband Prince Philip, 99, are aware she is expecting, Buckingham Palace confirmed.
Husband Mike Tindall announced the news today through his "The Good, The Bad and The Rugby" podcast, saying: "Been a good week for me, had a little scan last week, third Tindall on its way."
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are aware and delighted."
The new royal baby will be the Tindall's third after daughter Mia, six, and Lena, two-and-a-half.
She has also had two miscarriages and Mike Tindall said they are being careful.
He told the podcast: "We're not sure what to do, but Covi or Covina. I don't know where to go with names.
"Z [Zara] is very good, always careful because of things that have happened in the past and, yeah, really looking forward to it.
"I'd like a boy this time, I've got two girls. I would like a boy but I will love it whatever, whether a boy or a girl, but please be a boy."
He added: "We haven't told Mia yet, just, we knew she would tell everyone at school. We will tell her now that we've gone through the scans, yes, of course, we'll tell her.
"No, I think she'll be happy about it. She has been requesting another sister or brother. So, we've hopefully fulfilled that role for her.
"She just wants something different now. Lena's growing up, she's two and half now, she wants something younger to play with and dress up."
The news means Elizabeth is expecting two new grandchildren in 2021 as Princess Eugenie is pregnant with her first child with husband Jack Brooksbank.
The Queen already has eight grandchildren, including Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Zara's two existing children, Mia and Lena.
Zara's brother Peter Phillips also has two children, Savannah Phillips and Isla Phillips, with his ex-wife Autumn Phillips
Their mother, Princess Anne, is Elizabeth's second child, making Prince Charles, next in line to be king, their uncle.
