Princess Eugenie's husband is a "superhero" despite the recent publication of pictures of him on a yacht with a model in a bikinis, his mother-in-law says.
Sarah Ferguson, ex-wife of Prince Andrew, defended Jack Brooksbank over images of him on a Gozzo boat in Capri, on Italy's picturesque Amalfi Coast, while his wife was reportedly at home with their five-month-old baby.
He was with three glamorous women, including model Maria Buccellati, and another who was topless.
Brooksbank was away for work in his job as a brand ambassador for tequila company Casamigos, co-founded by George Clooney, the Duchess of York said.
Ferguson, known in Britain as "Fergie," told the BBC: "Jack, who was on the front page, is a man of such integrity. He's just one of my most favourite people, I call him James Bond actually.
"He's just a superhero in my book, and he's a great father, a fabulous husband, and he's never at front of house, he always likes to be at the back.
"So for them to make this story is completely fabricated, he works as an ambassador for Casamigos, and he was on doing his job, and so I think it's really important that we clarify that for Jack's sake."
Paparazzi images published in the Mail on Sunday raised eyebrows in Britain after they showed Brooksbank with model Maria Buccellati and another young woman, who was pictured without her bikini top off.
Rachel Zalis, former editor of Glamour magazine, was also on board the boat, the newspaper reported.
Brooksbank is European brand director of Casamigos Tequila and was on the Amalfi Coast, popular for destination weddings, for the UNICEF Summer Gala, which was sponsored by the company.
At the time, his wife Princess Eugenie was at home in Windsor with their five-month-old baby son August Brooksbank, according to The Daily Mail.
Ferguson told BBC's The One Show how she would have to get used to her first grandson being a boy after raising two daughters—Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
She said: "I've had sisters with daughters, and now it's Barbies put to one side, I've got to get into cars and trucks and engines.
"Although it has to be said, lovely August, if he wants Barbies we'll bring the Barbies back out! I think in life we never judge anybody or any thing, we just go for the heart."
Ferguson added: "I'm so lucky, my girls, Eugenie's a great mum, everyone says you're so excited with your grandson and I say no, I'm so proud of my daughter, she's a great mother.
"And then Beatrice is about to have her first—and she's already got Wolfie, who she's really good with, and he's five, so he likes watching Storytime with Fergie."
She was promoting her new book Her Heart For a Compass, published by Mills & Boon, famous for romantic novels.
