When Is Kieran Culkin Hosting 'SNL'? Everything You Need to Know

Kieran Culkin is set to go from the offices of Waystar Royco to the hallowed halls of Saturday Night Live (SNL).

The actor is the first Succession star to be invited to host the comedy mainstay, and the program confirmed his involvement with the show on Sunday.

Here is everything you need to know about the star's hosting gig.

When Is Kieran Culkin Hosting SNL?

Culkin, who plays Roman Roy in Succession, joins a long list of actors to appear on SNL and his appearance marks his debut as host of the program.

The Fargo star will be taking part in the fifth episode of Season 46 of SNL, and he follows in the footsteps of Owen Wilson, Kim Kardashian, Rami Malek, and Jason Sudeikis.

Culkin's episode as host will air live on Saturday, November 6, and it will see him take part in a number of hilarious sketches.

Who will be the musical guest?

Culkin will be joined by Ed Sheeran on the show, and the British singer is expected to perform a slew of new songs like Bad Habits and Shivers.

Sheeran has appeared a number of times on SNL; he previously performed on the show in 2014 and 2017.

The singer's appearance will come shortly after his new album "=" (or "equals") is released on October 29.

Has Kieran Culkin Appeared on SNL Before?

While November 6 will be the first time that Culkin has hosted the show, he has previously taken part in it.

The actor joined his brother Macaulay when he hosted an episode of the show on Season 17 back in 1991.

Culkin only made a small appearance on the show with his brother, but he played a character named Froggy in one sketch.

What Is Kieran Culkin Known for?

Culkin began his career as a child actor, much like his brother, Macaulay, and he appeared in films like Father of the Bride, Home Alone, and She's All That.

Since growing up, Culkin has also starred in cult hit Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and Fargo Season 2.

He is best known now for starring as Roman Roy in Succession, the youngest member of the Roy family who has a brash, no-nonsense attitude and is keen for power.

His performance earned him a nomination for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Mini-Series, or Television Film in 2019 and 2020, and he was also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020.

Saturday Night Live Season 47 is currently airing every Saturday on NBC at 11.30pm ET.
