Chelsea captain John Terry will meet with Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe over a proposed loan deal this January, according to reports.

Bournemouth was believed to have made an enquiry over the possibility of taking Terry, who has spent much of the season on the sidelines, to the Vitality Stadium until the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, Terry has decided to meet with Howe and listen to his proposal, despite being expected to reject any suggested moves away from Stamford Bridge.

The 36-year-old's contract at Chelsea expires at the end of the season, with this expected to be his final year with the club.

Terry has been at Chelsea since 1995 and has won 14 major trophies in that time.

The January transfer window closes on the last day of the month.
