Vicky White in Hotel Before Helping Casey White Escape Jail Shown in Video

Newly released surveillance footage shows Vicky White in the hotel she stayed in the night before she helped capital murder suspect Casey White escape from jail as authorities continue searching for the pair.

The video, released by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, showed Vicky White checking out of a Quality Inn in Florence, Alabama—located near the Lauderdale County Jail, where she worked as a corrections officer—at about 6:30 a.m. on April 29, according to a report from Alabama Live.

She headed to work after spending the night at the hotel. Three hours later, she allegedly left with White and told her coworkers she was bringing him to a mental health check. Instead, she helped him escape from jail, and two have not been seen since in a case that has captivated people across the United States.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton could say not exactly why she had stayed at the hotel, rather than her home, but speculated she may have done so to avoid seeing her family, Alabama Live reported. She sold her home about one month ago and has been living with her mother ever since.

In the video, she is seen at the front desk and appears to be searching for somebody to help her check out while pacing around. Many viewers on social media said she looked nervous in the footage.

The 2007 orange or copper colored Ford Edge the pair is believed to be traveling in was also found in a parking lot near the hotel on the night of April 28. A car she was seen driving in separate surveillance video was also found abandoned in the same parking lot.

Their SUV was later found about two hours from the jail, near Nashville.

The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $10,000 reward for the arrest of Casey White and a $5,000 award for the arrest of Vicky White (the two are unrelated). Authorities have said they will both face charges once they are found.

Casey White was detained in the jail ahead of an upcoming court date for capital murder charges. He is accused of fatally stabbing 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway in September 2020 and has confessed to the murder.

Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said that once they are found, Casey White will be charged with escape in the first degree (a felony) and Vicky White could be charged as an accomplice as well as with a separate charge for aiding in his escape.
