Stubborn Golden Retriever Refusing To Get Off Sofa for Grandma Goes Viral

A stubborn Golden Retriever has gone viral after claiming a comfortable seat and refusing to move.

In a viral video posted by ozzybeargolden on TikTok, the puppy can be seen comfortably lying on an armchair that belongs to the user's mum.

Oscar, the dog, doesn't even flinch as he has asked to move and it becomes clear that he is set on staying.

The video has been viewed more than 420,000 times and liked by over 25,000 people.

Little bugger testing my Mum. The "He's not allowed on the sofa" vs "He's got a cute face"... So adorable to see them together on a flying visit down to Lincolnshire for the day. #stubborndog #goldenretrieverlife

According to the American Kennel Club, Golden Retrievers are "lovey-dovey" as opposed to independent. They are well known for showing affection to their family members and treating everyone as their best friend.

The original poster added some text to the video which says: "When your retired nursery nurse mum meets her match with a petulant child."

In the comments, the six-month-old pup has been described as "precious" by his owner. The video was taken during a visit to the original poster's mom's house in Lincolnshire, U.K.

The mom in the video asks Oscar to get off her seat but he doesn't bat an eyelid.

Newsweek has published several articles regarding spoilt dogs, including one who refuses to get off his owner's bed, a demanding dog being tucked up for bed and two Goldendoodles who have their food cut up for them.

Bark Busters, a Home Dog Training company that provides personalized dog obedience and behavior training, has advised owners to ensure they know the difference between "loving and spoiling" their four-legged friends.

The trainers said: "Dogs actually crave rules and routing. They need boundaries. A dog without boundaries can become aggressive, demanding, or very proprietary of things, including its owner. It spirals out of control until owners no longer want the dog and the dog is sent to a shelter. You don't want to reward behaviors you will later regret.

"Conversely, loving your dog means developing a healthy relationship between you two based on respect and trust. It means you are the Pack Leader and get to determine when the dog should be rewarded for good behaviors."

The viral post has received many comments, most of which say what they feel Oscar is thinking.

A TikToker added: "He like is she talking to me."

Another commented: "You snooze you lose lady."

One user wrote: "How dare you Grannie, this is my chair 🥰😂."
