Why Kim Kardashian Divorced Kanye West

Kim Kardashian has opened up on the reason she decided to file for a divorce from husband Kanye West.

The 40-year-old reality star called time on her six-year marriage when she officially filed for a divorce in February.

The businesswoman candidly spoke to her mother Kris Jenner about her marriage in the final episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which aired on Thursday night.

Speaking back in October, when the episode was filmed, Kardashian told how she realized she was unhappy in her marriage after speaking to a therapist.

"I just want total happiness," she explained. "Obviously, I know complete bliss is not a full reality but if I can have it more the majority of the time, that's all I want to do."

The billionaire then said she is still figuring out how to achieve pure happiness, adding that she doesn't feel like she has anyone to share her life's accomplishments with.

"I just feel I've worked so hard in life to achieve everything that I wanted to and I lived up to my expectations and achieved 10 times more than I even thought was humanly possible but I don't have a life to share that with," she said.

The socialite then opened up on how she felt grateful to have been able to enjoy a host of extravagant experiences. However, she highlighted that she was now seeking smaller, more meaningful moments.

"I'm numb like, I'm tired of that, but I do know that I will be happy," she said, close to tears. "I didn't come this far just to come this far, and not be happy."

Khloe Kardashian previously told viewers of the family's reality show that her sister had been "struggling privately" in the months before her split from the rapper.

Fans of the show caught a glimpse of this in a previous episode where Kim was seen getting heated over a plate of cookies, which she said she couldn't have.

In the follow-up confessional, Khloe explained that her sister had been "clearly redirecting so much of her frustration and sadness and anger."

Despite Kim's confession, she appears to share an amicable relationship with her former partner, with whom she shares children North (7), Saint (5), Chicago (3) and Psalm (2).

On Wednesday, she shared a public Instagram post wishing West a happy 44th birthday.

Posting a snap of them alongside their children on a private jet, she wrote: "Happy Birthday. Love U for Life!"

The revelations come ahead of the upcoming Keeping Up With The Kardashians' reunion. The reality show, which shot the Kardashian-Jenner family to fame, just aired its final episode after 14 years on air.
