New York City
Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon is led away from court in handcuffs on September 8. Bannon, 68, was indicted on New York State charges of money laundering, conspiracy and fraud relating to his role in a fundraising scheme to construct the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Bannon pleaded not guilty. In January 2021, he received a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, expunging the federal charges he faced relating to the case. That pardon doesn’t apply to state-level prosecutions.
