Meghan Markle’s US Popularity Crash Mirrors As Ever Website Slump

Meghan Markle's U.S. popularity slumped at the same time as traffic from American visitors to her lifestyle business also plummeted, according to research by Newsweek. In this episode of The Royal Report Jack Royston looks at Meghan's declining popularity with Americans as measured by YouGov Ratings and compares it to a major slump in U.S. visits to asever.com, the online shop where she sells jams, honey, candles, wine and other goods. Meghan's net approval was plus 15 as recently as quarter three of 2025 but by the end of quarter one of 2026 had dropped 13 points to plus two. Meanwhile, U.S. visits to asever.com also dropped from 108,000 in December to 94,000 in March and 61,500 in April. At the same time, total visits were down from around 268,000 in January to 226,000 in March and 178,000 in April. Correlation does not imply causation but Jack discusses how the Sussex camp will need to keep a careful watch on whether this trend continues and if so think carefully about how to respond to it. From Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, and King Charles and Camilla to Prince William and Kate to Meghan and Harry, Newsweek's podcast The Royal Report brings you all the royal news. Queen Elizabeth ‘Very Keen’ Andrew Got Trade Job Linked to Epstein

New documents released today but the British government reveal that Queen Elizabeth II personally backed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s appointment as a U.K. trade envoy in 2000, with civil servants saying she was "very keen" he get the role. The papers which were published as part of a parliamentary update to the House of Commons detail how senior civil servants and ministers pushed his appointment forward after the Duke of Kent expressed his desire to step down from his duties. The documents show the late monarch Queen Elizabeth wanted her son to take over the role. Mountbatten-Windsor stepped down from his trade envoy status in 2011 over allegations linked to his closeness to late financier Jeffrey Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from a minor. The newly released files raise broader questions about accountability, privilege, and the extent to which royal influence shaped government decisions behind closed doors. From Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle, and King Charles and Camilla to Prince William and Kate to Meghan and Harry, Newsweek's podcast The Royal Report brings you all the royal news.
