'Fortnite' Green Goblin Item Shop Update: Bundle Contents, Price and Release Date

The Green Goblin will soon be gliding his way into Fortnite, where he will be available to purchase from the Item Shop as part of a wider cosmetic bundle.

Norman Osborn's villainous alter ego will soon be joining his perennial nemesis Spider-Man (who was added at the beginning of Chapter 3) in the battle royale shooter. This was discovered by reputable data miners, like @HYPEX and @ShiinaBR, who often peek behind the scenes into the game's Application Programming Interface (API) to see what's coming with future patches.

These accounts have accurately reported on big Fortnite updates in the past, including the recent introduction of Klombo dinosaurs and the new version of Tilted Towers. Not only do they often leak upcoming gameplay mechanics and map changes, but they are also known for teasing new additions to the Item Shop long before the official Epic Games announcements come through.

For instance, @HYPEX was responsible for uncovering the Boba Fett bundle in December, as well as the Naruto cosmetics and the outfits themed around Denis Villeneuve's Dune.

With all that said, they are very reliable sources when it comes to these things. @Shiina recently posted an early glimpse at the Green Goblin in Fortnite, alongside costumes for Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. Since then, the latter pairing has been added to the in-game Item Shop.

What Is in the Green Goblin 'Fortnite' Bundle?

The contents of the Green Goblin Fortnite bundle have fully leaked online.

The main attraction is obviously the outfit, which resembles the silver age version of the comic-book evildoer, rather than any of his big-screen depictions. He's sporting the classic purple shawl, has pointy elf ears and his mask is fixed into a rictus grin. If you want a closer look, then check out @iFireMoneky's tweet here.

In addition to the character skin, the bundle will also contain back bling that is designed to look like an active pumpkin bomb, an emote that sees you arming this explosive device, a loading screen, a unique harvesting tool and, of course, the goblin glider for when you need to make a dramatic entrance to a match.

To sum up, here is everything that will be included in Fortnite's Green Goblin bundle when it launches:

  • Green Goblin (Outfit)
  • Pumpkin Bomb (Back Bling)
  • Arm the Pumpkin! (Emote)
  • Attack of the Goblin (Loading Screen)
  • Pumpkin Pickaxe (Harvesting Tool)
  • Goblin Glider (Glider)

'Fortnite' Green Goblin Bundle Release Date and Cost

While Epic Games has yet to confirm a release date for the Green Goblin bundle, we do know that he was covertly added to the game's code as part of the v19.10 patch (that's how the data miners found him).

Given that the aforementioned Hawkeye bundles have already been added to the Item Shop, it's safe to assume that the Green Goblin won't be too far behind. The general consensus among leakers is that it will be within the next week or so (otherwise it would have been added in a later patch).

As for the outfit's price, it will likely be 1,500 V-bucks. New Fortnite skins tend to cost that much by default (this was the case with Bloodsport, Boba Fett, Jinx and Naruto for instance).

Meanwhile, the wider bundle, which includes the Green Goblin outfit and all the other cosmetic items, will be somewhere in the region of 2,500 V-bucks. Again, this pricing arrangement is the standard.

For context, 1,500 V-bucks is about $10, while 2,500 is about $18. It's difficult to do an exact V-bucks to dollars conversion, however, as this in-game currency can only be bought in fixed increments of either 1,000, 2,800, 5,000 or 13,500.
