Jose Mourinho has agreed a deal to become the new manager of Manchester United, the BBC reported Thursday evening.

Mourinho, 53, succeeds Louis van Gaal, who was sacked by United on Monday, and will lead the club into next season.

The former Chelsea manager, who was sacked by the Blues for a second time in December 2015, will reunite his rivalry with new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Mourinho and Guardiola competed fiercely during their time at Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively, and now the pair will go head-to-head in the same city.
