BTS did a live Q&A session for the iHeartRadio program in Los Angeles on Monday, talking about their first-ever Grammy Awards performance, their upcoming album and the top artists on their ultimate dream collaborations, which includes Brad Pitt.
Their latest appearance follows their historic performance at the 2020 Grammy Awards, which "was amazing," the band said. They performed "Seoul Town Road" with Lil Nas X, who they were most surprised to find was not so little, despite his name, and rather very tall, the band explained.
Last November, BTS fans—collectively known as the Army—were outraged the group were snubbed in this year's Grammy Award nominations. RM said Monday: "We'll be really happy if we could be nominated for the next Grammys."
Ariana Grande and Post Malone are among the top picks on the band's collaboration wish list, along with Brad Pitt, perhaps for a future film project, RM described half-jokingly.
The group were recently pictured with Grande backstage at a rehearsal for the Grammy Awards, while they met Post Malone during their appearance on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest on December 31. They performed in Times Square and described it as "surreal."
"I couldn't stop thinking about the movie Home Alone," RM said of the experience.
"The background and the winter in New York was all I saw in that movie... it looked really surreal and still can't believe that we've done that. One thing that we were really surprised by was the ball—it was really dropping," he added.
BTS will release their new album Map of the Soul: 7 next month and when asked by a fan on social media to describe the new record in three words, Jimin simply said: "This. Is. Amazing," while RM said the release will be "massive" in terms of the performance element and JK added it will be on "another level."
Hosted by JoJo Right, the show, which was dedicated to the late Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, featured a special appearance by Lauv, with whom the K-pop sensation released a remix of their song "Make It Right" last year.

The singer gushed about how BTS were "the nicest guys on the planet" when he first met them. The band and Lauv are said to be collaborating on another track for Lauv's new album this March, both Lauv and the group confirmed on the show.
The BTS Army took to social media to share their excitement at seeing the band live using the #iHeartBTS, which has been trending on Twitter since.
