'Mom' Canceled: Allison Janney Reacts After Show Axed

Mom is coming to an end, with Season 8 of the show set to be the final run for the CBS sitcom. Though episodes will continue until early May, the Mom cast has taken the opportunity of the cancellation being announced to start saying goodbye to the show.

Leading the tributes was Oscar-winning actor Allison Janney, who won two Emmys for her role as recovering addict Bonnie. Reacting to the news of the show ending on Instagram, she wrote a post that thanked the cast and crew for their eight years working on the show.

Notably, her Instagram post mentioned Anna Faris, whose sudden departure at the start of the current season eight is likely a contributing factor to the show coming to an end.

Janney's Instagram post read: "Getting to be part of Mom these past 8 years...showing the laughter, love and hope that can come with recovery, has been one of the great honors of my life. ⁣

⁣"I want to thank Chuck Lorre, Gemma Baker, Nick Bakay, and all the writers—Eddie Gorodetsky, Alissa Neubauer, Susan McMartin, Sheldon Bull, Adam Chase, Marco Pennette, Britte' E.
