'Pokémon Go' Update: Regice to Appear in Raid Battles

It seems more Legendary Pokémon from the Hoenn Region will arrive in Pokémon Go this summer after a recent push notification alerted players that Regice, one of the Regi trio, will appear in Raid Battles until July 19.

The Pokémon Go push notification reads, "Feel the chill! The Legendary Ice-type Pokémon Regice has come to Raid Battles until July 19!" Check out the push notification below.

The wording of the push notification would suggest the Legendary Pokémon is already in the game, but that's not the case. Perhaps Niantic pushed the notification sooner than they intended and Regice will appear after the current Water-type event ends.

The Pokémon Go Water Festival is set to end June 21 at 4 p.m. EDT so players can expect news on Regice coming to Raid Battles or the Ice-type will just begin appearing, so stay tuned.

Regice was already found in Pokémon Go's coding along with some information on the upcoming Trade feature. Niantic announced earlier this week that Pokémon Go will be implementing a Trade/Friend feature that will allow players to gift items, give each other power boosts and trade Pokémon.

Players will be able to trade Pokémon using Stardust, with Legendary and Shiny Pokémon requiring the most resources to perform a swap. There is also a Friend rating system that increases with actions performed with other players. The higher the Friend meter, the bigger the boosts, like increased attack power in Gym/Raid battles.

The Trade update for Pokémon Go is set to roll out in the mobile game sometime this week, but going off of past updates players can expect it to start on Friday, June 22.
