Niantic held Global Challenges for Pokémon Go over the weekend to coincide with Pokémon Go Fest in Chicago. All of them were completed by fans, so now Pokémon Go players can benefit from in-game bonuses like more candy and eggs that are easier to hatch.
Here's a rundown of all the information Pokémon Go players need to know about this new update including its end time and what the bonuses actually are.
HOW LONG DO BONUSES LAST?

The in-game bonuses will last in Pokémon Go from now until July 23 at 4 p.m. EDT.
WHAT ARE THE BONUSES?
Pokémon Go players will receive double candy on captures and increased candy on hatches. Players who enjoy Raid Battles get a guaranteed Rare Candy for participating.
Also, egg hatching distances have been reduced by half. If you were incubating an egg before the bonuses went into effect, the distances won't change. The changes only go into effect if you incubate eggs during the event.
Here are the new egg distances during this new event.
- 2km -> 1km
- 5km -> 2.5km
- 7km -> 3.5km
- 10km -> 5km

ZAPDOS DAY
Also, now that all the global challenges were achieved in Pokémon Go, Zapdos will have its own Community Day-like event on July 21.
On this day, every Gym will house a Zapdos for trainers to try and catch. Every trainer will receive five free raid passes to challenge at least five of these Gyms. Similar to the Articuno event on July 7, players can expect the event to go from 2-7 p.m. EDT.
Niantic confirmed these Zapdos have a chance to be shiny and that they will know the move Thundershock as its quick move.
Are you planning to take advantage of the in-game bonuses this week? How are you preparing for Zapdos Day? Let us know in the comments section below.
