While playing Sea of Thieves, you may have experienced an error, with the game flashing a code about beards. All of these different beards have different meanings and thankfully, the developers at Rare released a guide to help decipher everything. We've listed the different beard codes, including KikiBeard, CinnamonBeard, LazyBeard and more below, along with reasons why they may have popped up in your game. Sea of Thieves Beard Codes: What They Mean And How to Fix the Errors

KiwiBeard Error
- What it Means: This error can occur for a few different reasons. The most common is because of too many Gamertags being logged in at once.
- How To Fix: Sign out of all Gamertags, then sign back in with the one you want to use. This error code can also appear when servers are closed, but that shouldn't be a major issue now that the game has launched.
CinnamonBeard & BronzeBeard Errors
- What it Means: The Cinnamon and BronzeBeard messages mean you can't connect to Sea of Thieves for some reason.
- How To Fix:
- Press the Guide Button (sometimes called the Xbox button) on your controller
- Highlight Sea of Thieves
- Press the Menu Button (What was the "Start" button)
- Highlight "Quit" and press A
- Re-launch Sea of Thieves from your Pins, Recent or My Games & Apps areas of your console
- Navigate the menu and join a game as usual
AshBeard Error
- What it Means: This message means you aren't connected to Xbox Live.
- How To Fix: To fix, check your status again, then relaunch the game.
AvocadoBeard Error
- What it Means: This message means your Xbox Live Gold membership isn't active.
- How to Fix: Renew your subscription to keep playing.
AlabasterBeard, AllmondBeard & CyanBeard Errors
- What it Means: These messages mean something went wrong with your connection to either Xbox Live or Sea of Thieves servers.
- How To Fix: To fix, check console settings and relaunch the game.
BeigeBeard Error
- What it Means: This message means your game is out of date.
- How to Fix: Check for updates on the "My Games and Apps" page to make sure you're running the latest version of the game.
DaffodilBeard & LapisBeard Errors
- What it Means: This message means an error has occurred with Rare.
- How to Fix: To fix, please check the status of the game at the official Sea of Thieves site for more information.
FluffyBeard Error
- What it Means: When you see this message, it means the game's servers are down for an update or other maintenance.
- How To Fix: Check the Sea Of Thieves Server Status page for updates
LavenderBeard Error
- What it Means: Your antivirus or firewall settings can trigger this error. It can also be related to proxy servers.
- How to Fix: Try configuring your network.
LazyBeard Error
- What it Means: You have been kicked from your server due to inactivity.
- How to Fix: Keep playing and you won't see this message.
