Hello, I'm Alice Gibbs. Welcome to Newsweek's Bulletin. Here's what you need to know today. At least 30 people have been killed in central Spain after a high-speed train slammed into the rear of a stationary train, derailing two cars. Spain's rail system operator said that the accident involving two trains operated by Spain's stay-owned Renvfe Company and the private rail company Iryo, occurred in the province of Toledo. Officials said 147 people had been travelling on the Iryo train while the Renfe train had 397 people on board. The regional president warned that the death toll is expected to rise, adding that at least 80 people were injured. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, has announced that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signed paperwork to expel a Cuban diplomat accused of shoving and attempting to assault an American diplomat. The announcement follows a heated confrontation on Tuesday between U.S. and Cuban officials of the United Nations, where Waltz accused representatives of the Cuban government of attempting to disrupt his speech. The incident took place during the General Assembly's annual debate on the decades-long U.S. embargo against Cuba, where Waltz called a member-states to oppose a resolution seeking to end the restrictions. Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro has reportedly arrived in the United States after failing to surrender his passports to authorities in Brazil. A source close to the Bolsonaro family told Reuters that Bolsonaro had arrived in the United States, but declined to disclose his whereabouts. A senior state department official told the Associated Press that Bolsonaro and his family would be granted U.S. visas. His departure from Brazil comes just days after the stunning election lost to leftist workers' party president, Luis Inacio Lula de Silva. That's all for now. See you next time.
