The U.S. Marshals Service has announced the recovery of dozens of reported missing and endangered children in Ohio in what it said was the largest missing child operation in the state's history. The U.S. Navy sea drone that Iran has boasted about capturing in the Strait of Hormuz can operate underwater for up to 10 days and at depths of up to six kilometers. The White House is defending President Donald Trump’s decision to give $45,000 in cash to Natalie Harp, one of his closest aides, saying the payment was a personal holiday gift and “entirely permissible” under federal law and ethics rules. Harp, who serves as a special assistant and executive assistant to the president, disclosed the payment in her annual financial disclosure report, identifying Trump as the source and describing it as a “cash gift for the holidays.”

Hello, I'm Shane Crouch, welcome to Newsweek's Bulletin. Here's what you need to know today. The U.S. Marshals Service has announced the recovery of dozens of reported missing and endangered children in Ohio, in what it said was the largest missing child operation in the state's history. Operation Meridian, which took place throughout August in coordination with federal, state and local law enforcement partners, concluded with the recovery of 79 children between the ages of 6 and 17 across the state. It focused on children reported missing under circumstances such as suspected sex trafficking, physical and emotional abuse, neglect and other forms of endangerment. Iran says it has captured a U.S Navy sea drone in the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps captured the uncrewed underwater vehicle during a dawn operation on Tuesday. U.S. officials had previously confirmed the use of UUV's to keep the Strait of Hormuz free of Iranian mines. The U.S. Central Command confirmed the capture, but down played its significance, saying that the drone had malfunctioned while surveying regional waters. The White House is defending President Donald Trump's decision to give $45,000 in cash to Natalie Harp, one of his closest aides. The administration said the payment was a personal holiday gift, an entirely permissible under federal law and ethics rules. Harp, who serves as a special assistant and executive assistant to the President, revealed the payment in her annual financial disclosure report, identifying Trump as the source and describing it as a cash gift for the holidays. The payment was one of three $45,000 cash gifts Trump gave to White House employees, communications adviser Margot Martin and White House aide Chamberlain Harris also reported receiving cash gifts from the President. Until next time, that's all for now.
