'Keep quiet'
Upon entering the camera’s view, which started filming after the altercation had already begun, she tells a man standing nearby to “keep quiet” as a store employee attempts to calm the situation.
The man responds loudly, saying: “I am here, you do not put your bag where I am,” before tossing the woman’s bag onto the floor.
In a follow-up video, the creator says the woman featured in the clip had already been waiting near the pharmacy counter with her dog before it reopened.
Once staff returned from their lunch break and calmly explained that the woman needed to enter her name and birth date on the touchscreen system to retrieve her medication, the customer appeared frustrated by the process and left the line to demand a manager elsewhere in the store before returning.

“She just did not react [well] to this lady explaining to her that you have to fill this out,” the TikTok user said in the follow-up video, describing the employee as, “so monotone and calm.”
The company representative told Newsweek that they hope everyone that visits a CVS Pharmacy can have a positive experience.
"We want our CVS Pharmacy stores to be safe places to work, shop and fill prescriptions and a respectful environment for all," CVS said in a statement to Newsweek.
"We expect everyone, including customers, to treat each other with respect."
A Complicated Process
The incident highlights tensions that can arise around prescription access. Changes across the pharmacy industry—including staffing shortages and operational pressures—have made the process more complicated for both patients and workers.
“In some places, it can take all day, a few days or longer to get a prescription filled,” said pharmacist Joanne Doyle Petrongolo of Massachusetts General Hospital, according to Harvard Health Publishing.
She added that delays can create problems for people who rely on medications to manage chronic conditions.
Pharmacists also face pressure balancing multiple responsibilities, from filling prescriptions to administering vaccines and handling insurance issues. As a result, workers often find themselves managing both heavy workloads and tense customer interactions.
Pharmacy professionals have long argued that their work is often undervalued despite the critical role they play in health care.
As one industry commentary published by U.S. Pharmacist notes, pharmacists have provided medication guidance to billions of patients while helping prevent unnecessary doctor visits and hospitalizations.
TikTok viewers weighed in on the viral CVS moment with more than 13,000 comments, with many focusing on the woman’s behavior toward staff and other customers.
“She’s stressing her service dog out,” a pundit observed.
Another individual criticized the pharmacy for continuing the interaction, saying: “They shouldn’t have served her. Go to another CVS.”
Others speculated about possible factors behind the woman’s agitation.
“I’m not giving the old lady excuses but, she was stressing over her Ambien medication, which is usually for insomnia patients which often experience mood disturbances that can Increased irritability, anxiety and risk of depression,” a contributor noted.
Despite the heated exchange captured on camera, the original poster said the situation eventually ended with the woman receiving her medication and leaving the pharmacy, while other customers continued waiting their turn at the counter.
